Concept-based LearningAt MathSP, our instructors use a novel approach to teaching called Concept-based Learning. A strong understanding of mathematical concepts is important to performing well in any Math subject or standardized test. Our students learn specific concepts and strategies then practice working through problems that relate to a particular concept or strategy. Concept-based Learning allows students to apply a single concept to many different problems. Course problems are grouped according to concept so that students can grasp the consistencies between similar problems. Students understand that if they are comfortable with a finite number of concepts, then they are able to take their knowledge of the concepts and apply it to an infinite number of problems. |
