Course Structure & Materials

In the TIP Math Genius Program, instructors utilize the MathSP Facilitative Approach, which allows students to assess their strengths and areas for improvement while reinforcing best test taking practices. In a  Small Group Course, the length of each session is designed to simulate a real testing environment; students become comfortable with focusing for an extended period of time, as they must do on the real test.  The instructors begin each 3.5-hr session by reviewing the assigned homework problems. Students are encouraged to come to each session with any questions regarding their preparation material. Instructors lead discussions to assist students in finding the correct solutions.  Students work through missed problems to not only correct their mistakes, but also solidify their understanding of important concepts as well.
